How do I send you my documents?
Documents that are no bigger than 2 MB can be sent as an attachment on our Quote Request form. Much larger documents can be sent directly to our FTP, or you may use YouSendIt.com, a free service. To obtain access to our FTP, please contact us.
How long will my translation take?
Basically, a non-rush translation will be based on 2000 words per day. As all translations need to be reviewed by an editor and finalized by a proofreader, the delivery of a 2000 word translation would take no less than 48 hours.
What is your cost basis?
Our very competitive rates are based on the service requirements and are usually classified as Standard (up to 2000 words per day), Rush (over 2000 words per day), Translation plus DTP, Summary Translation (it provides a general idea of the document's content). Each language has a different rate base.
How should we pay you?
First time users of our service are expected to pay either a down payment or upon delivery, depending of the amount involved.
Do you accept credit card payments?
You may pay us by credit card through PayPal via our Online Payment Form.
What's the difference between your service and translation software?
The quality of our expertly crafted translations cannot be compared with automatic translation.
In October 2000, the Wall Street Journal gave two free online automatic translation services a test run and concluded: "These services are passable for travelers or for those wanting to translate a letter from a distant cousin. We definitely wouldn't use them for business or anything that remotely requires accuracy".
What would be the difference between your translation and a translation done by one of our bilingual employees?
Bilingualism per se is not a guarantee of written fluency or skill in translation. For the same reasons that businesses use the services or copywriters to write their business documents, and not just anyone who speaks English, you should consider using professional translators to do your translation work.
Do translators need background information in addition to the documents submitted by us?
Usually, translators will need and ask to know details such as target audience, target country or region, purpose of the translation. Matters such as style, word choice or register, phrasing, sentence length, as well as non-linguistic conventions will make a difference in achieving maximum impact for a particular audience and medium.
